PD: National Outdoor Education Conference — NOEC 2020

Date: 28-Sep-2020

Details

Outdoor Education Australia in conjunction with Outdoors NSW is delighted to announce that the National Outdoor Education Conference — NOEC 2020 — will be held in Sydney’s Blue Mountains from Monday 28 September to Thursday 1 October 2020 inclusive.

The 2020 biennial National Outdoor Education Conference will be hosted by Outdoors NSW from 28 September – 1 October 2020 at the Fairmont Resort, Blue Mountains, New South Wales.

“Expanding Our Horizons: Looking Up and Out”

You are invited to examine a broad range of contemporary practices and the vision underpinning the philosophical foundation of your work in the outdoors.

NOEC 2020 is an exciting opportunity to engage and critically reflect on the latest developments across a diverse range of aspects of the outdoor education spectrum. This includes: nature; risk, adventure; skill development; social and interpersonal development; local place-based education; curriculum innovation; environmental education; sustainability education; outdoor play and social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, to name but a few.

The Blue Mountains is an iconic and spectacular natural environment for interacting with the natural environment. The Fairmont Convention Centre in Leura offers both outstanding conference facilities, close to local village venues and with access to environments with world heritage value.  This location allows the opportunity for a diverse range in our program; and for those with an adventurous spirit to explore the Blue Mountains and surrounding landscapes either prior to the event, or with our selection of post-conference activities.

There will also be a number of social functions to catch up with interstate colleagues and meet delegates attending the conference for the first time.
