Consultation: Recreation on South West dams and lakes (closed)

08-May-2015

The Department of Transport (DoT) has embarked on a systematic review of aquatic use of these dams and lakes to ensure the safe, equitable and sustainable use of these important waterways.

A review of recreational use is being undertaken on a number of south west lakes and dams, now is the time to make your views known. If you are a recreational club, user or outdoor education teacher. Make your views known on how changes may impact you or how you think management can be improved.

The review is consistent with the roles and responsibilities of DoT and focuses on maximising community benefit and amenity.

The review is broken down into each location specifically being the current waterways management arrangements in place for that location and any changes or improvements that may be introduced.

For example should the Glen Mervyn Dam be changed from Water Skiing to a PWC 'Free Styling' area for Jet Ski's? Are there any specific waters that should be closed to power boating etc.?

AUR areas are;

Wellington Dam
Glen Mervyn Dam
Stockton Open Cut Dam
Lake Towerrining
Logue Brook Dam
Waroona Dam
