Have your say on government Red Tape via the Ecotourism 90 Day Regulatory Mapping and Reform Project.
In the recent outdoors sector survey over 76% of respondents identified an issue with Government 'Red Tape'. It was also identified as one of the top challenges the outdoors sector faced.
So now is the time to have your say:
The ‘Ecotourism 90 Day Regulatory Mapping and Reform Project’ is one in a series of projects undertaken by the Western Australian State Government designed to make a fast and meaningful difference to business through a reduction in excessive regulatory and red tape burden. Further information on the Government’s 90 day regulatory mapping and reform projects can be found here http://www.finance.wa.gov.au/cms/Economic_Reform/90_Day_Projects/90_Day_Projects_Background_Information.aspx
This particular project is being led by the Department of Finance, in collaboration with key government departments and agencies that have regulatory interactions with nature based tourism and ecotourism businesses, peak industry bodies, and individual businesses. With business as a focal point, the Department of Finance is conducting a survey to identify those regulatory and red tape issues that are having an impact on people in the community seeking to start up or operate a nature-based tourism or ecotourism venture. Given the diversity of products on offer in this sector, the findings from this survey will have an important influence in shaping the focus of the project. A link to this survey can be found here http://www.finance.wa.gov.au/cms/Economic_Reform/90_Day_Projects/ecotourism.aspx.
Outdoors WA has produced a tip sheet on the survey for outdoors providers here.
The Department of Finance welcomes your interest and participation in this project to give us a greater understanding of the specific regulatory and red tape challenges, as well as good experiences, for businesses operating in this sector.
