17-Nov-2016

Download a copy here

The Trails Blueprint is being developed by the Western Australian Government to provide an overarching guide for consistent and coordinated planning, development and management of quality trails and trail experiences across the State. It aims to assist the wide range of organisations and groups that are involved in developing and delivering trails and trail experiences – State, regional and local government; land and resource managers; trail managers and organisations; trail user groups; the tourism industry; community groups and the wider community.

The Trails Blueprint will apply to the range of trail types – walking / bushwalking / running, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, paddling, snorkelling / scuba diving, trail bike riding, driving (2WD and 4WD).

The Trails Blueprint will build upon the achievements of the earlier Western Australian Trails Strategy 2009-2015. It will seek to develop further the strengths of the State’s trail sector while addressing trail development and management challenges and emerging trends in trail use.

The Trails Blueprint seeks to achieve outcomes that benefit the whole community through trails used by local residents and visitors that deliver a wide range of benefits to people, the economy and the environment.
