JOB VACANCIES: Casual Outdoors Sales Assistant & Data Entry


Compleat Angler and Camping World Rockingham is now hiring for Casual Outdoors Sales Assistant and Date Entry champions!

About us
Compleat Angler and Camping World Rockingham is a locally owned, family
operated store. We supply fishing, camping, hiking and outdoor specialist equipment
to the general public, industry, industrial and Special Forces. We have an instore
Specialist Outdoor Ed Division. We are all about exceptional customer service, great
quality products at a good value for money price. Compleat Angler and Camping
World Rockingham has been established in Rockingham for 23 years and owned by
the same family. The work environment, although fast paced has a fun vibe and the
health and wellbeing of our team is always a priority.

Tasks & responsibilities
 Greet all customers, with bright and cheerful greetings and build warm and genuine
customer relationships. Assist customers with the correct purchases of equipment to
ensure a great fishing and camping experience. Be able to speak fluent hiking talk as
well as an understanding of what outdoor education in Western Australia entails
 Fitting of hiking packs, shoes and sleep systems. This is often fast paced and under
pressure with customers waiting for you.
 Well developed technology skills including Microsoft Office skills.
 Data entry of products into the back office of the Retail Manager POS System
 Be able to provide quality and interesting content for Social Media posts relating to
hiking and the outdoors and relevant to the business. This will include blog and vlog
posts, Facebook posts and Instagram. Being comfortable in front of a camera is an
added bonus.
 Sales of hiking, outdoor and fishing equipment. Using a POS System and confidently
and correctly handling money. Receiving stock, displaying goods & ticketing goods
for sale. Ensuring that all stock is presented in a neat and tidy manner. Lifting and
moving stock and being physical is a large part of this job.
 General shop keeping cleanliness including vacuuming and scrubbing and wiping of
all surfaces to COVID-19 specifications. Washing floors, washing dishes and all of
the boring mundane jobs including tea and coffee making for co workers.
 Be capable of working in a very fast paced environment with a customer service
orientated team with the most incredible customers ever. Every day is different and
every customer different so you will need to be flexible and bright all day long. Being
a team player and respectful co worker is essential.
 Genuine want to be able to help customers who walk in to our store. Be accepting of
all people and treat everyone as an equal.

Qualifications and experience
 Experienced in hiking, camping, light weight camping.
 Local outdoors, hiking and camping knowledge is highly advantageous.
 Experience in fishing, general outdoors, drone/drones fishing skills an extra
 Great people skills. Sales experience is a huge added bonus but not essential. This
is about building relationships with our customers and helping them to have a great
 Enthusiastic and a thirst to learn about new products
 Fast and accurate data entry skills
 Competent user of excel spreadsheet, word documents, publisher

 The hiking, fishing and outdoors industry is a wonderful industry to be a part of.
There is always something different happening each day so there is much variety.
