Good news, pending no further local cases, the five-day lockdown for the Perth, Peel and South West regions will end as planned.
It’s positive that we’ve still been able to get outdoors for 1 hour a day, but we look forward to organised and group outdoor recreation returning with a few constraints:
All details at this time can be found at https://www.wa.gov.au/government/announcements/transition-out-of-lockdown-6pm-friday-5-february
Key requirements affecting our outdoors sector:
Mask wearing (Perth & Peel) – you will need to wear a mask in public and at work. For outdoor instructors and guides the mask can be removed when giving instructions to groups and then replaced. If you need to leave the Perth and Peel region for essential purposes you must wear a mask at all times in other regions of WA, as per the rules in place for Perth and Peel
There is a 4m2 rule in place for venues. This includes hospitality, entertainment, public and fitness venues, up to a maximum of 150 (excluding staff). Consideration will need to be given to assessing your program, eating and accommodation spaces. Travel between Perth, Peel and elsewhere in the State has constraints. The advice given is to seek a permit under the G2G pass system if travel is required for work or education purposes. See link:

Schools are returning. However there may be additional health directions. It is recommended that if you have school programs booked to contact the individual school principal to confirm your programs. The Department of Education has provided an update. https://www.education.wa.edu.au/current-schooling-arrangements
Pre lockdown requirements such as physical distancing, hygiene practices and contact registers are still required.
We look forward to seeing more people active outdoors.
