Situation Vacant: Camping Program and Outdoor Instructors


Camping Program and Outdoor Instructors for 2017 and beyond!
Adventureworks WA is a leadership and outdoor adventure specialist working with individuals, schools and organisations across Australia and overseas for over 20 years.

Our programs include school camping programs, outdoor education activities, journey based expeditions, family adventures and rite of passage programs. We deliver experiences that are underpinned by the principles of positive psychology, coaching principles and a strengths based approach.
We are based in the South West of Western Australia and run programs in a variety of locations from the rugged South West to the wilderness and waterfalls in the Kimberley. We are the preferred provider for all program activities at Nanga Bush Camp in Dwellingup.

We are currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic Camping Program and Outdoor Instructors with a range of skills, experience and qualifications to lead predominantly school programs in Perth, Dwellingup and the South West region.
Positions commence January 2017. Either fixed term contracts (part-time) or casual positions available.
Internal training and orientation will be provided.

Minimum Requirements
• First Aid and CPR
• Working with Children Check
• Full police clearance
• Driving licence
• Australian Residency or Australian working visa Desirable Qualifications
• Senior or Wilderness First Aid
• Heavy vehicle / small truck endorsed driving licence
• Diploma / Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation or equivalent
• Surf Rescue / Bronze medallion

Specialised Qualifications
• NORLS (National Outdoor Leaders Registration Scheme)
• High and Low Ropes Challenge Course
• Rock Climbing & Abseiling
• Facilitation & Coaching • Flat Water/ocean kayak/sit on top guide/swift water
• Bush Walking
• Mountain biking
• Caving

• Individuals with 2 of the above specialist qualifications and min 12 months’ logged experience working as a facilitator or leader of outdoor and camping programs
• Excellent group management skills and the ability to plan for and manage risk in the outdoor environment and potentially stressful situations
• Great communication skills with the ability to work with groups and individuals to facilitate inspiring and motivating outdoor adventure and camping experiences.
• Experience working with a diverse range of ages, client groups and program styles will be well regarded
• Desire and ability to work closely and collaboratively within a team and the flexibility to work with a changing environment
• We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm, energy and passion who can demonstrate self-leadership and be an excellent role model to students, clients and team members.
