Situation Vacant - Health and PE Teacher - Penrhos College

Health and Physical Education Teacher (Part Time, Terms 3 & 4, 2020 Academic Year)

Penrhos College is a Uniting Church day and boarding school for girls, kindergarten to Year 12.
Our purpose is to ‘inspire girls to become extraordinary women’.

The College has a part-time position within our Health & Physical Education Department for the remainder of the 2020 Academic Year.

The position is part time, teaching across the 5-day timetable with a shared form. The FTE for the positions will be approximately 0.6 FTE in Semester 2 and is a leave cover position.

Experience in Basketball, Soccer, Water Polo or Swimming to support the College’s IGSSA Program would be beneficial for applicants for this position.

As a teacher at Penrhos, you will play a significant role in planning, delivering and reflecting on the learning experiences in your classroom. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

• A demonstrated passion for the IGSSA sports of Basketball, Soccer, Water Polo or Swimming,
• A Bachelor of Education or a degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma of Education.
• Current Teacher Registration Board of WA Membership including a Working with Children card (WWC);
• Commitment to the College’s Core Shared values of Respect, Integrity, Empathy, Knowledge, Growth and Synergy.
• Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning experiences to cater for the learning needs of all students;
• Ability to integrate technology into curriculum delivery to provide opportunity for students to develop 21st Century Skills.

The following essential criteria must be addressed with evidence in the Selection Criteria document:
1. An excellent working knowledge of the Curriculum Framework and associated pedagogy for delivery of Curriculum.
2. A demonstrated excellence in teaching including pastoral care and a high level of subject knowledge.
3. Commitment to the IGSSA Program, and Penrhos’ full participation in events.
4. Appropriate Driver’s License to drive school coaster buses
5. Current First Aid & CPR
6. Current Surf Bronze Medallion
