Founded in 1881, St Joseph’s is an independent Catholic boarding and day secondary school for boys, under the care of the Marist Brothers. In 2018 enrolment is approximately 1100 boys from Years 7 to 12.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION TEACHER

Colo Outdoor Education Campus

Permanent position to commence Term 3, 2018

0.9 FTE for 2018, 0.8 FTE from 2019

The College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and well-qualified Outdoor Education teacher to live and work at the College’s Colo Outdoor Education Campus. This well-established centre is situated on 30 hectares bounded by the Colo River and the Wollemi National Park, with extensive facilities and equipment. The Campus is the base for the College’s sequential Outdoor Education program for Years 7-9 and offers multiple program activities including adventure ropes course, bushwalking, canoeing, mountain biking, expeditions, problem solving initiatives, rock climbing and orienteering.

The successful applicant will have strong skills and proven teaching experience in several of the program activity areas; be committed to the value of Outdoor Education; and have the personal attributes to teach in a close knit professional team. Appointees must be supportive of the Catholic ethos and traditions of the College and give witness to its values.
