The Outdoors Sector

In order to realise the many benefits that adventuring outdoors and connecting to nature provides WA needs a proactive and well-resourced Outdoors Sector.

The WA Outdoors Sector is made up of organisations, businesses, campsites, schools, leaders and individuals that work together to provide the quality outdoor experiences that the outdoors community enjoys. Whilst there is overlap, the sector broadly includes:

  • Outdoor Education
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Outdoor Therapy
  • Adventure Tourism

These different areas make up the outdoors community that enjoys spending their working and leisure time in the varied landscapes across WA be they tracks and trails, rivers, oceans deserts or mountain ranges.

Outdoors WA supports the guiding of a range of adventurous activities such as bushwalking, rock climbing, white water rafting and many more via maintenance of the WA Adventure Activity Standards. There is a range of careers and training that is also conducted by Outdoors WA members.

Outdoors WA welcomes new members from all parts of the sector to join and strengthen the outdoors community in WA.
