With new award categories, new sponsors and the opportunity for a night of industry celebration, we’re looking forward to recognising the amazing outputs and outcomes the outdoor industry delivers. 1. Outdoor Adventure Tourism Award
Presented by Tourism Western Australia. This award is for a tourism operator, event or product that delivers outdoor activity adventure products for either local or inbound participants. Suitable for an Organisation: Nominate now
2. Outdoor Recreation Award
Presented by Paddy Pallin. This award is for an outdoor recreation peak body, club, provider, event or product that stands out from all others; has raised awareness about the benefits of outdoor recreation and being outdoors; has increased participation in outdoor recreation; and has made a significant impact on the outdoor recreation sector. 3. Outdoor Education Award
Presented by Paddy Pallin. This award is for school, early childhood, out of school care, camp or outdoor education providers that deliver outdoor education programs in outdoor adventurous settings, and significantly influence a participant’s physical ability, mental health and ability to thrive. 4. Young Achiever
Presented by Anaconda. This award recognises the efforts and achievements of an individual new to the outdoor sector; a student, a young person, or anyone making a change into the sector. They may be enrolled in a structured course (e.g. school, TAFE, university), volunteering, working as a trainee, or newly employed by an outdoor provider. Suitable for an Individual: Nominate now
5. Individual Achievement Award
Presented by Macpac. This award is for individuals who have demonstrated professionalism, high achievement in a particular field and exemplary role modelling. Suitable for an Individual: Nominate now
6.Encouraging Participation Award
Presented by Go Camping & Overlanding. This award is for those who have achieved significant success in encouraging participation in outdoor activities through pioneering program development and /or marketing. There must be a demonstrated increase in participation in outdoor recreation for either the general population or specific client groups such as developing inclusive programs designed to engage people of all abilities and or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Essential Criteria
Nominees for each award, whether individuals or organisations, should meet some or all of the following essential criteria:
High achievement in a particular field
Demonstrated significant outcomes for organisations, communities, or individuals
Dedication and commitment to the broader outdoor community
Development of all-inclusive practices and /or programs
Demonstrated acknowledgment/inclusion of indigenous culture and practices
Industry and/or peer recognition
Process
Nominations for the WA Outdoor Industry Awards are assessed by the Outdoors WA Board and an independent panel.
Each nomination should include sufficient information about the nominee (whether individual, organisation, event or program) to give the assessors a clear picture of the nominee and an understanding of why the nominee would make a suitable award winner.
