With over 3,500 beaches, 17 marine parks, scenic archipelagos and 1,600 fish species and stunning reef formations Western Australian waters offers so much to explore and marvel over.
Where do we start narrowing down the best diving spots??!! All we can do is break it into areas of truly amazing diving….. here they are.
Rottnest Island– with 13 historic shipwrecks off the coast of Rotto
Esperance– with a few fantastic spots like Tanker Jetty, Woody Island Nature Reserve and
Albany– Island diving and the former HMAS Perth Dive Wreck, a 133m guided missile destroyer that was laid there in 2001 to become home to an abundance of marine life.
Off Eagle Bay– HMAS Swan was a decommissioned naval destroyer and placed off Point Picquet (3 hours south) It was a 113m long and one of the largest ships wrecks in the southern hemisphere that attracts large schools of impressive fish.
Rowley Shoals Marine Park– Off the coast of Broome there are 3 separate coral atolls with stunning wall dives. It is best to explore this region between September to December.
Exmouth & Ningaloo– This is a stunning area to snorkel and dive with around 500 fish species and over 200 coral species. Great dive spots are Lighthouse Bay, Ningaloo Reef, Muiron Islands and one of the top dives being the Exmouth Navy Pier dive.
