Study Outdoor Education

There are many high schools that provide Outdoor Education for students to experience true outdoor activities and learning life skills in high school. We strongly encourage your children to take advantage of this opportunity so they can experience so many different forms of outdoor adventures that will enhance their growth, encourage teamwork, challenge them and exhilarate them.

Notre Dame has a Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation is an exciting degree designed to meet the growing demand in WA for qualified individuals to work in the recreation, education, adventure tourism and eco-tourism sectors. Over three years you will learn key outdoor skills while developing the ability to design, plan and implement safe outdoor programs.

Become a leader in the outdoor recreation industry. This qualification is aimed at employability in the marine tourism and outdoor recreation industry’s with employment outcomes such as charter boat crew, snorkel and kayak leaders/guides, camps, expeditions, and adventure tours among many others.

 

Duke of Edinburgh Awards

The Award is a leading structured (non-formal education) youth development program, empowering all young Australians aged 14-24 to explore their full potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world, regardless of their location or circumstance. The Award is a fully inclusive program and has no social, political, or religious affiliations.

To achieve an Award, each young person must learn a skill, improve their physical well being, volunteer in their community and experience a team adventure in a new environment. All Participants are supported by a network of adult Award Leaders, Assessors, and Supervisors.
