Registrations for nominations for the Western Australian Outdoor Recreation Sector Awards 2022 are now closed.
Outdoors WA presented the 2022 Western Australian Outdoor Recreation Sector Awards. These annual awards recognise and celebrate those who have contributed to providing a quality service to help improve or encourage people to participate in outdoor recreational activities in Western Australia.
The five awards categories were:
• Outstanding Outdoor Organisation Award
• Outstanding Contribution to Outdoor Learning Award
• Outstanding Outdoor Education Practitioner
• Innovative Outdoor Program or Event
• Encouraging Participation Award
More About The 5 Categories-
Outstanding Outdoor Organisation Award
Awarded to the organisation, club, education provider and other enterprises that have made a valuable contribution to the outdoor community and operate with professionalism and to high standards. This award will take into account the long term and continued involvement of any nominee.
Outstanding Contribution to Outdoor Learning
Awarded to the school or educational organisation that has made the greatest contribution to the Outdoor Education profession in the past twelve months. This award will take into account the long term and continued involvement of the nominee
Outstanding Outdoor Education Practitioner
Awarded to recognise the efforts and contribution of an individual or organisation to the advancement of Outdoor Education demonstrating significant impact on students, participants and/ or peers.
Innovative Outdoor Program or Event
Awarded to the program or event conducted by an individual, school, commercial / not for profit / community based organisation that demonstrates a high level of innovation in program design, participant involvement or subject matter.
Encouraging Participation Award
Awarded to those that have achieved significant success in encouraging participation in outdoor activities through pioneering program development and /or marketing. There must be a demonstrated increase in participation in outdoor recreation for either the general population or specific client groups such as developing inclusive programs designed to engage people of all abilities and or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
