Tertiary Training:

Notre Dame University in Fremantle provides a Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation in the School of Health Sciences. It aims to provide essential knowledge, practical skills and leadership opportunities to individuals who want to work in the outdoor industry. Link

South Metropolitan TAFE provides an entry level Certificate III in Outdoor Recreation.This Qualification develops knowledge and skills for employability as an independent guide within the Marine Tourism, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation industry.The core skills covered includes planning and guiding outdoor recreation activities, marine and shore based tour guiding, snorkel and kayak guiding, OHS and risk management, first aid, elements of shipboard safety, food preparation on a vessel and quality service.
